WEEK OF DECEMBER 4

ALEX SWEET, JR, LOUISVILLE, KY./KENTUCKY COUNTRY DAY

A junior swimmer from Louisville, Ky., Sweet had a hand in setting three new school records at the NIKE Open hosted by Kenyon College over the weekend. Sweet broke the school's second-oldest standing record on Saturday when he recorded an NCAA "A" cut time of 45.30 in the 100 freestyle, breaking the mark that had stood since 1982. Sweet was also part of the 800 freestyle relay team that set a school record and swam an NCAA "A" cut time of 6:46.67. He also was part of the 400 freestyle relay team that set a pool and school record with an NCAA "B" cut time of 3:04.14. Additionally, Sweet notched a "B" cut in the 50 freestyle (21.13) and was part of the 200 freestyle relay that produced a "B" cut time (1:23.23).
