A sophomore forward from Jackson, Miss., Van Devender helped lead the W&L women's soccer team to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament over the weekend. In a 6-0 first-round victory over Meredith College, Van Devender recorded her first career hat trick and set a new W&L record for points in a season (57). She also tied the record for goals in a season (23) as the Generals set a new program record for victories (18-1-2 overall).
