JACKIE BURNS, SO, BURKE, VA/WOODWARD ACADEMY

A sophomore from Burke, Va., Burns helped lead the W&L women's cross country team to a seventh place finish out of 27 teams at the Lehigh Paul Short Invitational on Friday. She finished sixth out of 231 runners with a W&L-record and personal-best 6K time of 22:24. Also the ODAC Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week, Burns won the ODAC Championship last season en route to being named ODAC Runner and Rookie of the Year.
