LAST TIME OUT:
Randolph Macon quarterback Hunter Price connected with wide receiver Derrick Jackson on a 19-yard touchdown pass with 15 seconds remaining to lift the Yellow Jackets to a 28-24 victory over Washington and Lee. The Yellow Jackets marched 95 yards in just 1:24 for the winning touchdown. Washington and Lee had a chance to put the game away after sophomore defensive back Ted Maffitt intercepted a pass from Price and returned it 19 yards to the Yellow Jacket 23-yard line with 3:44 to play. But on fourth-and-three from the Yellow Jacket 5-yard line, sophomore quarterback Peter Dean couldn't connect with junior wide receiver Jay Thomas in the back of the endzone. After a scoreless first quarter, Randolph-Macon jumped on the board first as running back E.J. Bush scored on a 1-yard run. W&L responded with 53 seconds to play in the first half when Dean connected with Thomas from four yards out. The teams traded touchdowns in the third quarter as W&L senior running back Marc Watson scored on a 3-yard run with 9:50 to play. The Yellow Jackets tied it at 14-14 as David Strong scored on a 5-yard run with 6:13 left in the third quarter. Bush scored his second touchdown just 53 seconds into the fourth quarter on a 3-yard rush and Wiginton connected on a 29-yard field goal with 9:33 to play, slicing the Yellow Jacket lead to 21-17. Dean then connected with junior running back Chris Sullivan on a 71-yard touchdown pass with 5:27 left that gave W&L a 24-21 lead. W&L was led by Sullivan, who collected a career-high 202 yards on 35 carries and caught two passes for 78 yards and one touchdown. Sullivan finished the day with a career-high 301 all-purpose yards. Thomas caught four passes for 61 yards and one touchdown. Sophomore linebacker Ben Krasnoff led the defense with 12 tackles, including two for losses.

THE LAST MEETING WITH CATHOLIC:
(CUA 47, W&L 0, October 7, 2000 - Washington, D.C.)
Catholic running back Dan Boyle rushed for 197 yards and four touchdowns as the Cardinals handed Washington and Lee a 47-0 loss. The victory was the first win for Catholic over W&L in five tries. The loss also marked the first time that the Generals were shutout since 1995. Catholic opened the scoring 31 seconds into the first quarter after Lonnie Meadows intercepted a pass by quarterback Bobby Littlehale and returned it 39 yards for a touchdown. Then, a 13-play, 83-yard drive was capped by quarterback Derek McGee's touchdown pass to Jason Weber to give Catholic a 14-0 lead with 6:45 left in the first quarter. Boyle scored his first touchdown of the day with 54 seconds left in the first quarter to put the Cardinals up, 20-0. He then scored two more touchdowns in the second quarter to give Catholic a 33-0 lead at the half. For the game, Catholic was led by Boyle and McGee, who completed 15-of-21 passes for 129 yards and two touchdowns. Wideout Jim Jankiewicz hauled in seven receptions for 72 yards. The Cardinal defense combined to sack the Generals' quarterbacks eight times. The Cardinals outgained W&L, 407-46. Running back Marc Watson was held to just 14 yards on 14 carries. The quarterback combination of Littlehale and Zach McQuigg completed 10-of-22 passes for 52 yards and one interception. Linebacker Matt Stavish led the Generals' defense with 16 tackles.

SCOUTING CATHOLIC:
Catholic enters its game with Washington and Lee with a 1-3 overall record, 0-1 in the ODAC. The Cardinals are coming off a 20-12 loss at LaSalle on Saturday afternoon. CUA was led by senior quarterback Derek McGee, who completed 26-of-54 passes for 254 yards and two touchdowns. He was picked-off twice and sacked three times. Freshman wide receiver Nick Bublavi caught five passes for 81 yards, including an 18-yard touchdown catch to cap the scoring. Senior running back Dan Boyle was held to just seven yards on nine carries. Freshman Bobby Stutz led the Cardinal defense with 16 tackles. On the season, Boyle leads the team in rushing with 140 yards on 50 carries. McGee has completed 54.9 percent of his passes for 870 yards and six touchdowns, while junior wide receiver Dan Evans has snared a team-high 24 passes for 212 yards. Junior wide receiver Jim Jankiewicz has caught 12 passes for 180 yards and one touchdown. Defensively, Stutz has led the team with 29 tackles and two pass breakups.

FEARSOME FOURSOME:
The strength of the W&L defense has always been its linebacking corps where the Generals have claimed at least one All-ODAC player every year since 1995. This season, W&L's defense is again anchored by its linebackers as all four linebackers are leading the team in tackles. Senior Jeff Bahl leads the team with 44 stops followed by sophomore Ben Krasnoff (36) and juniors Matt Stavish (29) and Andrew James (22). In addition, the four have combined to make 10.5 of the team's 20 tackles for loss and three of the four sacks.

KRASNOFF NAMED ODAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Sophomore linebacker Ben Krasnoff was named the ODAC Defensive Player of the Week after recording a game-high 12 tackles, including two for a loss. Krasnoff also intercepted a pass and broke-up two other passes. Krasnoff is second on the team with 36 tackles.

LEFTY QB:
Sophomore Peter Dean is the starting quarterback after switching from the defensive back position he held last season. Dean is the first left-handed quarterback to assume starting duties at W&L in over five decades. Dean tossed his first two career touchdown passes on Saturday at Randolph-Macon. Dean, who also plays baseball at W&L, posted a 6-0 record and 3.10 ERA on the mound last season.

NOT TO BE FORGOTTEN:
Though Marc Watson has received much of the publicity the last three years, junior running back Chris Sullivan has been very productive at the position. Sullivan was a Second Team All-ODAC selection at running back in 1999 after amassing 722 yards and seven touchdowns. He claims 1,226 career rushing yards and is just 81 yards from moving into the W&L all-time Top 10 in career rushing. A versatile back, Sullivan has also recorded 2,908 career all-purpose yards, fourth all-time at W&L. Watson holds the top spot with 4,327 career all-purpose yards.

KEEP IN MIND:
Senior running back Marc Watson is on his way to breaking a few more W&L career records. Watson is just two touchdowns from breaking the career TD record held by Kevin Weaver (29) since the 1986 season. Watson is also just 486 yards from breaking Stewart Atkinson's career rushing yards record (3,072).

ON TARGET:
W&L's leading scorer through its first four games is senior placekicker Brad Wiginton. Wiginton has connected on 5-of-6 field goal attempts and all seven PAT's for 22 points. For his career, Wiginton has connected on 16-of-22 field goals and 79-of-84 PAT attempts. Wiginton holds the W&L record for career PAT's made and ranks fifth all-time in career field goals made. He can move into the W&L Top 5 in career scoring with 24 more points.

OH SO CLOSE:
The Generals' game at Randolph-Macon last Saturday was a real heart-breaker as the Yellow Jackets drove 95 yards to score the game-winner with 15 seconds remaining in the game. The loss to Macon marked the eighth time that the Generals have lost a game by seven points or less since the beginning of the 1998 season.
