LEXINGTON, Va. -- Sophomore forward David Lechtrecker (Ellicott City, Md./Mt. Hebron) scored on a free kick with 34 seconds remaining in double-overtime to lead second-seeded Roanoke past third-seeded Virginia Wesleyan, 3-2, in the ODAC Men's Soccer Tournament Semifinals at Washington and Lee.

Lechtrecker's kick came from 19 yards out and sent the Maroons to the ODAC finals where they will meet either Washington and Lee or Hampden-Sydney.

Virginia Wesleyan (12-7-1) took the lead first as freshman midfielder Jon Mills (Virginia Beach, Va./Salem) scored on a penalty kick just 12:51 into the game. The 1-0 lead would hold up until Roanoke sophomore midfielder Keith McGovern (Philadelphia, Pa./Holy Ghost Prep) notched an unassisted tally at the 51:06 mark.

The Blue Marlins battled back to take a 2-1 lead with 77:37 gone-by as junior midfielder Josh Nolz (Onancock, Va./Nandua) scored off an assist from sophomore forward Bruce Krezonis (Neptune, N.J./Neptune). However, the Maroons (16-2) would again tie the game and send it into overtime as junior midfielder Brandon Moffett (Laurel, Md./Laurel) scored unassisted at the 82:31 mark.

Sophomore Chris Ebeling (Ellicott City, Md./Oakland Hills) posted two saves in goal for Roanoke, while sophomore Sean Wheaton (Virginia Beach, Va./Kempsville) made six saves in goal for the Marlins.

Roanoke outshot the Blue Marlins, 13-7 and held an 8-1 advantage on corner kicks.
