W&L MEN'S SOCCER FALLS TO GUILFORD, 3-0 GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Guilford senior forward Matt Feraci
scored two second half goals to help lead Guilford to a 3-0 win over
Washington and Lee in the quarterfinals of the ODAC Men's Soccer Tournament. The Quakers (9-6-4) went up 1-0 at the 26:18 mark when
freshman midfielder Greg Haver scored off a feed from freshman midfielder
Clarke Seniff. Feraci then salted the game away with a pair of goals
in a span of 1:58. His first tally came unassisted at the 64:22 mark,
while the second was assisted by freshman midfielder Mike McCaffery
at the 66:20 mark. W&L held advantages in shots (18-10) and corner kicks
(8-5), but could not find the net for just the third time this season. Freshman Jim Tartaglia (Richmond, Va./JR Tucker) played
all 90 minutes in goal for the Generals, recording two saves. Sophomore
Zane Campbell also played the entire game in goal for Guilford, notching
one save. With the loss, Washington and Lee's season comes to an end with a 6-7-3 overall record. -- GENERALS -- GOALS ASSISTS GOALKEEPERS W&L MEN'S SOCCER DEFEATS LYNCHBURG, 4-1 LEXINGTON, Va. -- Washington and Lee senior defender Peter
Miller (Towson, Md./Baltimore Lutheran) scored a goal and assisted on
two others to lead the Generals past Lynchburg, 4-1, in ODAC men's soccer
action on Tuesday afternoon at Watt Field. Miller got W&L (6-6-3, 3-3-3) on the board at the
26:23 mark when he scored off an assist by junior midfielder Matt Wallace
(Roanoke, Va./Patrick Henry). Lynchburg responded with an unassisted
goal by sophomore midfielder Joe Jewell (Fairfax Station, Va./W.T. Woodson)
at the 35:00 mark, but the Generals carried a 2-1 lead into the half
following a goal by freshman forward Court Nexson (Lynchburg, Va./Virginia
Episcopal), which was assisted by Miller and senior forward Brian Pirkle
(Lexington, Va./Woodberry Forest). The Generals went up 3-1 as Miller fed junior midfielder
Brett Strohsacker (Wynnewood, Pa./Lower Merion) for a goal in the 59th
minute, and capped the scoring on a goal by freshman forward Jack Palmer
(Williamsburg, Va./Jamestown) off an assist from freshman midfielder
Josh Dodds (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Linn-Mar) in the 63rd minute. Freshmen Jim Tartaglia (Richmond, Va./J.R. Tucker) and
Ted Sheedy (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) split time in goal, combining
for three saves. Junior Dan Ruch (Ridgefield Park, N.J./Ridgefield) and
freshman Marcus Jordan (Germantown, Tenn./Germantown) both played in
goal for the Hornets (9-7-1, 4-5), making nine saves. W&L outshot Lynchburg, 28-9, and held a 10-2 advantage
in corner kicks. The Generals return to action on Saturday in the first
round of the ODAC Tournament. The Generals will be the sixth seed and

LEXINGTON, Va. -- Freshman midfielder Damien Woodley (Marlboro,
N.J./Marlboro) scored his second goal of the game at the 86:07 mark
to give the Virginia Wesleyan men's soccer team a 3-2 win over Washington
and Lee on Saturday afternoon at Watt Field. After a scoreless first half in which each team got off
only two shots, the two teams would combine to score four goals in a
span of 14 minutes in the second stanza. Woodley started the scoring
binge on an unassisted goal at 51:33. The Marlins (9-5-2, 5-2-1) extended
their lead to 2-0 when freshman forward Caleb Mitchell (Chapel Hill,
N.C./East) scored off a pass from senior midfielder Steve Leahy (Onancock,
Va./Nandua) at 59:14. The Generals (5-6-3, 2-3-3) then responded with the next
two goals to tie the game at 2-2. Senior midfielder Justin Mygatt (Marietta,
Ga./Woodward Academy) scored at 61:30 off assists by senior defender

an assist to help lead the Roanoke men's soccer team to a 2-1 win over
Washington and Lee on Wednesday afternoon in Salem, Va. The Maroons (9-5-1, 6-2) opened up the scoring at the
6:51 mark on an unassisted goal by Keating. The Generals responded to
tie the game at 1-1 on a goal by senior midfielder Justin Mygatt (Marietta,
Ga./Woodward Academy) at 18:26. Senior midfielder Brian Pirkle (Lexington,
Va./Woodberry Forest) notched the assist. Just over seven minutes later, Roanoke closed out the

Va./Woodberry Forest) registered three points on a goal and an assist
to help the Washington and Lee men's soccer team to a 3-0 victory over
Catholic on Saturday afternoon at Watt Field. The Generals (5-4-3) got on the scoreboard just 6:30 into
the game when freshman forward Jack Palmer (Williamsburg, Va./Jamestown)
scored an unassisted goal. W&L extended its lead to 2-0 less than
nine minutes later when junior defender Roger Morscheiser (Orlando,
Fla./Edgewater) headed the ball into the Cardinals' net off a corner
kick from Pirkle. The Generals outshot Catholic, 14-4, in the first half
and went into halftime with the 2-0 advantage. Pirkle scored the only goal of the second half unassisted
at 54:52. W&L freshman goalkeepers Jim Tartaglia (Richmond,

to give Eastern Mennonite a 3-2 victory over Washington and Lee in men's
soccer action on Tuesday afternoon in Harrisonburg, Va. The Royals (4-7-2, 2-4) jumped out to a 1-0 lead just
22 seconds into the game on an unassisted goal by Jared Byler. The EMU
defense held W&L in check throughout the first half and went into
halftime with the 1-0 lead. Generals senior midfielder Brian Pirkle (Lexington, Va./Woodberry
Forest) scored the first of his two goals at the 62:49 mark to tie the
score at 1-1. Junior defender Derrick Lott (Knoxville, Tenn./Knoxville
Catholic) assisted on the goal. EMU retook the lead on a goal by Joel Shank at 76:01.
With just under five minutes remaining in the second half, Pirkle scored
his second goal of the game to knot the game at 2-2. Lott picked up
his second assist on the goal. After neither team found the back of the net in the first

scored at the 61:03 mark to lift the Keydets to a 1-0 win over Washington
and Lee in men's soccer action on Tuesday afternoon at Patchin Field. The goal occurred when the W&L defense played the
ball back to freshman goalkeeper Ted Sheedy (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel)
who slipped when attempting to clear, opening the door for Lloyd to
slip in and convert the goal. With the win, the Keydets improved to 6-4-1 overall, their
best start in 15 years. VMI held a 6-4 advantage in shots, while W&L

The game was a tight, defensive battle throughout the
first half as both teams fired off only four shots. The second half
had a similar look until W&L junior midfielder Brett Strohsacker
(Wynnewood, Pa./Lower Merion) buried a shot into the top-right corner
of the Yellow Jackets' net at 57:23. Randolph-Macon (6-2-2, 1-1-2) evened the score at 1-1
when sophomore defender Brandon Sumpter (Vienna, Va./James Madison)
fired a shot that was saved by Generals freshman goalkeeper Ted Sheedy
(Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel). The ball then squirted out of Sheedy's
hands in front of the net and was kicked in by senior midfielder Patrick

a 2-2 tie against ODAC-foe Hampden-Sydney College on Saturday afternoon
in Hampden-Sydney, Va. Freshman midfielder Josh Dodds (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Linn-Mar)
scored the first of his two goals at the 23:32 mark to give the Generals
(2-2-2, 1-0-2) a 1-0 lead. W&L held the lead until Hampden-Sydney
(2-6-1, 0-2-1) freshman Brian Peters knotted the game at 1-1 at the
60:45 mark. Dodds gave the Generals a 2-1 lead with his second goal
of the game with just a minute and a half remaining in the second half.
W&L appeared to have the victory in hand until Tigers senior Michael
Kraemer tied the game at 2-2 with only 21 seconds left in the second
half. Neither team was able to find the back of the net in the two overtime

Tucker) played all 110 minutes and made seven saves. Sophomore Nathaniel

men's soccer team past ODAC-foe Emory & Henry, 3-0, on Wednesday
afternoon in Emory, Va. The Generals (2-2-1, 1-0-1) took a 1-0 lead when Pirkle
received a pass from senior midfielder Justin Mygatt (Marietta, Ga./Woodward
Academy) and fired it into the back of the Wasps' goal at the 22:33
mark. Pirkle made it 2-0 four minutes later when he scored off a feed
from sophomore forward Sandy Piracci (Chapel Hill, N.C./Chapel Hill). Freshman midfielder Josh Dodds (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Linn-Mar)

team played Bridgewater to a 1-1 tie in two overtimes at Watt Field
in the ODAC-opener for both teams. The Generals (1-2-1, 0-0-1) opened the scoring with 32:19
gone-by as freshman forward Court Nexson (Lynchburg, Va./Virginia Espicopal)
scored off an assist by senior midfielder Justin Mygatt (Marietta, Ga./Woodward
Academy). W&L's lead held up until the Eagles knotted the score
at 1-1 at the 56:27 mark on an unassisted tally by senior forward Matt
Brock (Signal Mountain, Tenn./McCallie School). Both teams then played
the regulation and two overtime periods scoreless for the 1-1 tie. Junior Michael Stanton (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Olympia)
played all 110 minutes in goal for the Generals, making four saves.
Sophomore Mitch Hamersley (Midlothian, Va./Midlothian) also logged all

the SAS Complex in Raleigh, N.C. Greensboro (1-2-1) led 2-0 at halftime and also got goals
from freshman Robert Fricke and sophomore Galen Reid enroute to the
victory. Washington and Lee (0-2) was outshot 12-4 and had a 5-1
