Roanoke Invitational -- Mar. 22, 1997 -- Salem, Va.
Washington and Lee placed sixth at the Roanoke Invitational behind the 
lead of senior Sandy Hooper who won the 1,500 meter run. W&L also had 
Will Olson and Jason Callen take third and fourth in the 1,500. Omar 
Moneim took third in the shot put with a career-best throw of 44-10 and 
W&L's 4x100 relay team placed second.

Virginia Tech Invitational -- February 8, 1997 -- Blacksburg, Va.
The Generals ran in a top-flight meet at Virginia Tech that included a 
number of Division I schools. Sandy Hooper won his heat in the 800 
(2:01.19); Will Olson won his heat in the 3,000 (9:00.43) and Taylor 
Shultz won his heat in the mile (4:33.57).

VMI Relays -- February 1, 1997 -- Lexington,Va.
Washington and Lee opened the indoor season with a strong showing at the 
45th Annual VMI Winter Relays. Junior Will Olson won the 3,000 meter run 
in a time of 8:58.7 and Ryan Bowe took second in the 1,000 in a time of 
2:54.1. Senior tri-captain Sandy Hooper placed fourth in the 800 in a 
time of 2:02.4.
