LANE COMPETES AT IHSA NATIONALS
SUNBURY, Ohio -- Washington and Lee junior Caitlin Lane
(Leesburg, Va./Poolesville) was in action on Saturday afternoon at the
Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) National Championships
held in Sunbury, Ohio.
Lane placed fifth in the open flat event.

LANE AND MAXWELL COMPETE AT IHSA NATIONALS
SUNBURY, Ohio -- Washington and Lee juniors Caitlin Lane
(Leesburg, Va./Poolesville) and Natalia Maxwell (Plano, Texas/Plano
West) were in action on Thursday afternoon at the Intercollegiate Horse
Show Association (IHSA) National Championships held in Sunbury, Ohio.
Lane placed third in the open fences, while Maxwell finished
sixth in the novice flat.
Lane will also participate in the open flat event on Saturday
afternoon.

W&L RIDING FINISHES SECOND AT ODAC CHAMPIONSHIPS
HOLLINS, Va. -- The Washington and Lee riding team placed
second of five teams at the ODAC Championships held at Hollins University
on Friday.
The Generals tallied 17 points and trailed just Randolph-Macon
Womans College, who totaled 19 points. Hollins and Bridgewater
tied for third with 10 points, while Lynchburg College totaled seven
points.
Individually, juniors Caitlin Lane (Leesburg, Va./Poolesville)
and Katie Goodrich (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) earned First Team
All-Conference accolades.
W&L placed first overall in the open fences and open
flat phases of the event.
W&L will complete its 2004-05 schedule as Lane and
junior Natalia Maxwell (Plano, Texas/Plano West) compete at the IHSA
National Championships on May 5-8 in Sunbury, Ohio.

W&L ADVANCES TWO RIDERS TO IHSA NATIONALS
HOLLINS, Va. -- Washington and Lee juniors Caitlin Lane
(Leesburg, Va./Poolesville) and Natalia Maxwell (Plano, Texas/Plano
West) both qualified for the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association
(IHSA) National Championships following their performances in the IHSA
Zones held at Hollins University on Friday afternoon.
Lane placed first in the open flat event and second in
the open fences and qualified for nationals in both events. Maxwell
advanced to nationals for the first time in her career following a first
place finish in the novice flat. Sophomore Brittany Bansak (Redding,
Conn./Joel Barlow) narrowly missed a bid to nationals following a third
place performance in the advanced walk-trot-canter.
The IHSA National Championships will be held in Sunbury,
Ohio on May 5-8. Lane will be competing at nationals for the third time
in her career. She finished fourth in the open flat last season.

Maxwell: 72 Novice Fences, 84 and High Point Rider Novice Flat.
LYNCHBURG, Va. -- The Washington and Lee riding team qualified
three individuals to the zones competiton with their performances at the
regional competiton on Friday afternoon at Randolph-Macon Woman's College.
Junior Caitlin Lane (Leesburg, Va./Poolesville) qualified
for zones by winning the open flat and open fences competitions. She will
be joined at zones by junior Natalia Maxwell (Plano, Texas/Plano West)
and sophomore Brittany Bansak (Redding, Conn./Joel Barlow). Maxwell placed
second in the novice flat, while Bansak placed second in the advanced
walk-trot-canter event.
Senior Anne Jacobson (Pottstown, Pa./Hill School) narrowly
missed qualifying for zones by placing fourth in the advanced walk-trot-canter.
W&L returns to action on Saturday as it competes in
the IHSA Collegiate Cup at the Virginia Horse Center. The IHSA Zones will
be held on April 8 at Hollins College.
