Junior Fullback Becomes Third All-American In School History
LEXINGTON, Va. -- Washington and Lee junior fullback Paul Wallace (Roanoke, Va./Patrick Henry) was named to the Division III NSCAA/Adidas Men's Soccer Second-Team All America squad on Wednesday afternoon. The NSCAA/Adidas All-America teams are voted on by members of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
Wallace becomes W&L's third player in history to earn All-America status and the first since Mikel Parker in 1998.
He spearheaded a W&L defense that allowed just 0.62 goals per game. The Generals finished with a 19-2 overall record and advanced to the NCAA South Regional final. On the season, Wallace scored one goal and one assist to bring his career total to six goals and eight assists for 20 points. His lone goal of the season was the game-winner in overtime against Guilford in the quarterfinal round of the ODAC Tournament.
Wallace was also named First-Team All-ODAC and First-Team All-South Atlantic Region. As a freshman, he earned the ODAC Rookie of the Year award.
