SALEM, Va. -- In its first season as a varsity sport, the Washington
and Lee field hockey team placed two players on the All-Old Dominion Athletic
Conference team that was released on Wednesday afternoon. Sophomore forward Kelly Taffe (Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle) was named
to the second team, while freshman midfielder Kitt Murphy (Richmond, Va./St.
Catherines) was selected to the honorable mention team. Taffe led W&L in scoring with 14 points on six goals and two assists.
She also scored two game-winning goals on the season. Murphy started 12
of the team's 13 games, scoring one goal. Washington and Lee finished its initial season with a 3-10 overall record,
2-7 in the ODAC. The Generals dropped six games by just one goal, including
