PRIEST AND FISHER TO COMPETE IN NORTH-SOUTH GAME
W&L Head Coach Jan Hathorn Will Coach South Squad
LEXINGTON, Va. -- Washington and Lee senior defender Eloise
Priest (Alexandria, Va./St. Stephens-St. Agnes) and senior midfielder
Courtenay Fisher (Baltimore, Md./Garrison Forest) have been selected to
play in the IWLCA Division III North/South Women's Lacrosse All-Star Game
on June 8 in Baltimore, Md. In addition, W&L Head Coach Jan Hathorn
will coach the south team.
The game is part of the 2002 STX Lacrosse Festival with the Division III
senior all-star contest slated to begin at 4:00 pm.
A starter in all 63 games in her W&L career, Priest concluded her
senior season with a team-high 41 caused turnovers. A team captain this
season, Priest also notched 35 ground balls and tallied one goal. For
her efforts this year, Priest was named to the First Team All-ODAC and
the ODAC All-Tournament Team. It was her third consecutive selection to
the All-ODAC First Team.
Fisher, who was also a team captain this year, completed her senior campaign
with 13 points on 12 goals and one assist. She also recorded 24 ground
balls and caused 20 turnovers. Fisher, a Second Team All-ODAC honoree
in 2000, registered 53 goals and 11 assists in starting all 57 games of
her career.
Washington and Lee completed its season with an overall record of 11-6
and advanced to the ODAC Championship game where it was defeated in overtime
by Randolph-Macon, 12-11.
