SKILLMAN, N.J. -- The Washington and Lee men's and women's tennis teams have both earned a preseason national ranking from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). The women's team is ranked fifth in Division III, while the men are ranked 17th nationally.

The Generals' women are ranked second in the NCAA South Atlantic Region and trail just Williams, Emory, Trinity (Texas) and Amherst in the national rankings.

The W&L men are ranked fifth in the NCAA South Atlantic Region, trailing Emory, Washington College, Averett and Sewanee in the regional rankings.

In addition, several individuals are ranked in singles and doubles.
