Jacob Stoehr Named To Second Team All-State Squad

LEXINGTON, Va. -- Washington and Lee senior sweeper Paul Wallace (Roanoke, Va./Patrick Henry) was named the Virginia College Division Player of the Year as voted on by the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) and announced on Monday morning.

Sophomore midfielder Jacob Stoehr (San Antonio, Texas/Alamo Heights) earned second team accolades.

Wallace was named a Third-Team NSCAA All-America and the ODAC Player of the Year after leading his squad to a 12-4-1 overall record and the ODAC regular season title. He also garnered First Team All-ODAC honors for the third time in his career.

Wallace spearheaded a W&L defense that allowed just 1.1 goals per game. He started all 17 games for the Generals and tallied six points on two goals and two assists. Wallace scored the lone goal in a 1-0 victory over Hampden-Sydney in the ODAC semifinals. In his four years with the W&L soccer program, Wallace recorded a total of 26 points on eight goals and 10 assists.

Stoehr, who also started all 17 games, had an outstanding season for the Generals this fall. He led the squad in goals (9) and points (19) and was an All-ODAC Second Team selection.
