PAUL WALLACE NAMED VIRGINIA COLLEGE DIVISION PLAYER OF THE YEAR LEXINGTON, Va. -- Washington and Lee senior sweeper Paul
Wallace (Roanoke, Va./Patrick Henry) was named the Virginia College
Division Player of the Year as voted on by the Virginia Sports Information
Directors (VaSID) and announced on Monday morning. Sophomore midfielder Jacob Stoehr (San Antonio, Texas/Alamo
Heights) earned second team accolades. Wallace was named a Third-Team NSCAA All-America and the
ODAC Player of the Year after leading his squad to a 12-4-1 overall
record and the ODAC regular season title. He also garnered First Team
All-ODAC honors for the third time in his career. Wallace spearheaded a W&L defense that allowed just
1.1 goals per game. He started all 17 games for the Generals and tallied
six points on two goals and two assists. Wallace scored the lone goal
in a 1-0 victory over Hampden-Sydney in the ODAC semifinals. In his
four years with the W&L soccer program, Wallace recorded a total
of 26 points on eight goals and 10 assists. Stoehr, who also started all 17 games, had an outstanding
season for the Generals this fall. He led the squad in goals (9) and
