W&L MOURNS THE DEATH OF PAT LYLES
Wife of Coach Joe Lyles Was A Great Supporter Of General Athletic Teams

LEXINGTON, Va. -- Pat Lyles, wife of former W&L baseball and soccer coach and current club sports coordinator Joe Lyles, passed away on Sat., Mar. 23 at the University of Virginia medical center.

Funeral services were held at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church in Lexington on Tue, Mar. 26.

A longtime supporter of W&L's athletic teams, Mrs. Lyles was awarded with the athletic department's R.E. "Chub" Yeakel Memorial Service Award at the 2001 Athletic Department Awards Banquet.

"Pat Lyles has been a fixture at Washington and Lee athletic events for more than forty years," said Mike Walsh, W&L's Director of Athletics. "Her warm smile, her gracious demeanor, and her unerring support will be greatly missed by Generals' fans and students."
