W&L PLACES THREE ON ALL-STATE WOMEN'S LACROSSE
TEAM
LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Virginia Sports Information Director's Association
(VaSID) announced its 2002 College Division All-State Women's Lacrosse
team on Thursday morning and Washington and Lee claimed three members
of the first and second team. Junior attacker Leslie Bogart (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) and senior defender
Eloise Priest (Alexandria, Va./St. Stephens-St. Agnes) both earned first
team accolades, while senior midfielder Julie Carskadon (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown)
received second team laurels. Priest was named to the first team for the second consecutive season
after anchoring the W&L defense which allowed 7.74 goals per game.
Priest, who has picked up 35 ground balls and caused a team-high 41 turnovers,
also scored one goal. She earned First Team All-ODAC and IWLCA/US Lacrosse
First Team All-America honors in 2002. The Generals concluded their season with an overall record of 11-6. W&L advanced to the ODAC Championship game where it was defeated by Randolph-Macon, 12-11, in overtime. -- GENERALS --
