W&L PLACES THREE ON ALL-STATE WOMEN'S LACROSSE TEAM
Bogart and Priest First Team Selections; Carskadon Second Team Pick

Junior Attacker Leslie Bogart

LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Virginia Sports Information Director's Association (VaSID) announced its 2002 College Division All-State Women's Lacrosse team on Thursday morning and Washington and Lee claimed three members of the first and second team.

Junior attacker Leslie Bogart (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) and senior defender Eloise Priest (Alexandria, Va./St. Stephens-St. Agnes) both earned first team accolades, while senior midfielder Julie Carskadon (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown) received second team laurels.

Bogart was named to the all-state team for the first time in her career after earning First Team All-ODAC honors. She was W&L's top scorer with 58 points on 16 goals and 42 assists. Bogart's 42 assists also shattered the W&L single-season record of 30 which she set as a freshman. Her 93 career assists are also a W&L record.

Priest was named to the first team for the second consecutive season after anchoring the W&L defense which allowed 7.74 goals per game. Priest, who has picked up 35 ground balls and caused a team-high 41 turnovers, also scored one goal. She earned First Team All-ODAC and IWLCA/US Lacrosse First Team All-America honors in 2002.

Carskadon was selected to the all-state team for the first time in her career after garnering First Team All-ODAC honors. She scored 13 goals, dished out four assists and led the Generals with 73 ground balls during the 2002 season.

The Generals concluded their season with an overall record of 11-6. W&L advanced to the ODAC Championship game where it was defeated by Randolph-Macon, 12-11, in overtime.
