Generals Enter Tournament As The Second Seed

LEXINGTON, Va. — The second-seeded Washington and Lee (9-4, 7-1) women's lacrosse team will host seventh-seeded Sweet Briar (7-7, 2-6) in an ODAC Tournament Quarterfinal match at 4:00 pm on Wednesday afternoon at the Liberty Hall Fields.

When these two teams met earlier this season in Lexington, Va., the Generals came away with a 23-5 victory.

In the other quarterfinal games, top-seeded Randolph-Macon (9-4, 7-1) will host eighth-seeded Hollins (1-10, 1-7), third-seeded Roanoke (10-5, 6-2) will entertain sixth-seeded Bridgewater (7-7, 4-4) and fourth-seeded Lynchburg (10-5, 5-3) will host fifth-seeded Virginia Wesleyan (9-7, 4-4).

The semifinals and final will take place on Saturday and Sunday at the home field of the highest remaining seed.

W&L captured last year's ODAC Championship with a 6-2 victory over Lynchburg in the finals.

The winner of the ODAC Tournament will earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
