W&L WOMEN'S SWIMMING TEAM RANKS NO. 1 IN ACADEMICS LEXINGTON, Va. -- The College Swimming Coaches Association
of America (CSCAA) recently released its team rankings for Academic All-America
and the Washington and Lee women's swimming team topped the list. The Generals claimed a 3.685 grade-point average (GPA) for
the spring term to post the highest team GPA among all Division I, II
and III schools in the nation. Macalester College was second overall with a 3.620 GPA followed
by St. Mary's (Md.) with a 3.610. Fairmont State was the top Division
II school with a 3.595 GPA and SMU was the highest Division I school with
a 3.55 GPA. The W&L women's swimming team claimed its 10th straight
Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championship in 2002-03 and finished
