SARAH MICHAELS NAMED HONORABLE MENTION ALL-ODAC
Junior Forward Tops On Team In Scoring


Junior forward Sarah Michaels

LEXINGTON, Va. -- Junior forward Sarah Michaels (Norfolk, Va./Norfolk Academy) was tabbed an Honorable Mention All-ODAC performer by the Old Dominion Athletic Conference coaches on Thursday morning.

Michaels topped the Generals in scoring with a 14.8 points-per-game average. She also tallied 6.1 boards and 1.5 steals per contest, hit 27 three-pointers and shot a team-best 81.7 from the free throw line (85-for-104).

After taking her sophomore year off, Michaels established career-highs in points (29) and rebounds (11). In a 56-35 win over Virginia Wesleyan on Jan. 18, Michaels poured in a season-team-high 29 points, including 5-for-7 shooting from three-point range. Her 11 boards came in the first meeting with Randolph-Macon (1/2) as she posted a double-double with 10 points.

The Generals season came to a close on Feb. 22 with a 68-50 loss to Guilford. They finished with a 3-21 mark overall, 3-17 in the ODAC.

Roanoke senior guard Katrina Williams was named ODAC Player of the Year while Randolph-Macon guard Megan Silva garnered Rookie of the Year accolades. Emory & Henry's Joy Scruggs was named Coach of the Year.
