W&L GOLF RANKED 13TH FOLLOWING FALL SEASON LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Washington and Lee golf team is ranked
13th in the GolfStat Division III fall rankings. The Generals completed
the fall season with a 301.1 stroke average over nine rounds. Several W&L individuals are also listed among the nation's
best. Sophomore Ged Johnson (Darien, Conn./Taft School) ranks 51st in
Division III with a 74.56 stroke average, while senior Chip Campbell (Memphis,
Tenn./Memphis University School) ranks 59th with a 74.67 stroke average.
Campbell also leads Division III in par three scoring (3.00). Aditionally, sophomore Carlos Spaht (Baton Rouge, La./Episcopal)
is rated second in Division III in putts on green in regulation (1.815)
and freshman Tom Borda (Northville, Mich./Northville) ranks fifth in total
short game (.576). Washington and Lee will begin its spring season on March 3-4 as it competes in the Pfeiffer University Pine Needles Invitational in Southern Pines, N.C. -- GENERALS --
