Generals Among Top DIII Schools in Graduation Rate

LEXINGTON, Va. -- Washington and Lee recently received the 2002 USA Today/NCAA Academic Achievement Award for placing among the Top 10 schools in Division III in student-athlete graduate rates.

W&L placed eighth overall, graduating 90 percent of its student-athletes. Regis College (Mass.) placed first at 100 percent, followed by Tufts (95%), Bowdoin (94%), Marywood (94%), Wesleyan (92%), Wellesley (92%), Vassar (91%), W&L, Carleton (89%) and Smith (88%).

The study is for freshmen who entered school in the fall of 1995, allowing six years to graduate.
