Sophomore Among 32 Individuals To Compete For Division III Singles Title

Sophomore Paul McClure

LEXINGTON, Va. -- Washington and Lee sophomore Paul McClure (Memphis, Tenn./Memphis University School) has been selected to participate in the NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Singles Championship.

McClure was among 32 players chosen for the singles championship to be held May 17-19 at Gustavus Adolphus College.

The Generals' No.1 singles player, McClure has posted a 14-8 overall record and was named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference player of the year after claiming the conference championship at No. 1 singles and No. 2 doubles (15-8).

As a team, W&L fell to Washington (Md.), 4-2, in the opening round of the NCAA team championship on May 3. The Generals, ranked 16th in Division III, finished the season with a 15-3 overall record.
