W&L MEN'S TENNIS ODAC PRESEASON FAVORITE
Fourteenth-Ranked Generals Set To Defend Title

Junior Graham Nix

LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Washington and Lee men's tennis team nabbed all six first-place votes and is the No. 1 ranked team in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference preseason coaches poll which was released on Monday.

The Generals are trailed by Lynchburg, Hampden-Sydney, Eastern Mennonite, Emory & Henry, Roanoke, Virginia Wesleyan, Randolph-Macon and Bridgewater.

W&L went 13-6 overall last season, including 6-0 in the ODAC. After winning the ODAC crown, the Generals reached the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament where they fell to Washington College (4-1).

W&L, which is ranked 14th in the Omni Hotels Division III rankings, welcomes back junior co-captains Austin Kim (Richmond, Va./Clover Hill) and Graham Nix (Bronxville, N.Y./Bronxville). The all-conference performers will lead a young nucleus which includes sophomore Paul McClure (Memphis, Tenn./Memphis University School) and freshman Justin Hannon (Gastonia, N.C./Charlotte Latin), the 15th and 20th ranked singles players in the Atlantic South Region, respectively.

W&L (4-0, 2-0 ODAC) is in action again on Thursday when it hosts Hampden-Sydney in a 3:00 pm meet.
