W&L WOMEN'S LACROSSE TOPS ODAC PRESEASON POLL
Generals Seek To Improve Upon Last Year's Runner-Up Finish

Senior defender Sarah Janowitz

LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Washington and Lee women's lacrosse team garnered six first-place votes and 10 points overall to sit atop the Old Dominion Athletic Conference preseason coaches poll which was released on Monday.

The Generals, who fell to Randolph-Macon, 12-11, in overtime in last season's ODAC title game, are followed by Roanoke (two first-place votes). Defending champ Randolph-Macon, Lynchburg, Virginia Wesleyan, Bridgewater, Sweet Briar, Guilford and Hollins round out the polling.

W&L went 11-6 overall last season, including 7-1 in the ODAC.

Returning to lead the Generals are a pair of First Team All-ODAC performers, senior attacker Leslie Bogart (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) and senior defender Sarah Janowitz (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright). Bogart and Janowitz head 15 returning letterwinners seeking to return the Generals to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since the 2001 season.

W&L (0-1) is in action again on Tuesday when it travels to Guilford for a 4:00 pm contest.
