W&L WOMEN'S SWIMMING NAMED ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICA TEAM
Generals Combine For Lofty 3.313 G.P.A.

LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Washington and Lee women's swimming team garnered recognition as a College Swimming Coaches Association of America Academic All-America team for its success both in the pool and in the classroom.

The Generals were one of 39 teams to earn Academic All-America laurels, and their 3.313 team G.P.A. is the 14th-highest among Division III schools. Macalaster (Minn.) led the way with a 3.64 cumulative G.P.A.

W&L and Sweet Briar (3.15 G.P.A.) were the only two Old Dominion Athletic Conference schools to earn the Academic All-America distinction.

The Generals concluded their season by winning their 10th consecutive ODAC Championship on Sun., Feb. 23. They went 9-4 overall and 3-1 in the ODAC.
