Senior shortstop Michael Hanson (Atlanta, Ga./Pace Academy) and junior pitcher Peter Dean (Vienna, Va./James Madison) were first team honorees, while senior first baseman Brian Gladysz (Palm Harbor, Fla./Berkeley Prep) and junior rightfielder Bryan Mulhern (Chadds Ford, Pa./Unionville) were named to the honorable mention team. The award winners were selected in voting by Virginia's sports information directors.

Hanson played his way onto the all-state team for the first time after hitting .371 with five home runs, 12 doubles, 23 RBIs, 14 stolen bases and a school-record 46 runs this year. The 2003 ODAC Player of the Year, a First Team All-South Region selection and a Third Team All-American, he hit .360 for his career. Additionally, he graduates as W&L's all-time leader in games played (136), at-bats (519), hits (187), runs (148), doubles (43), triples (13) and stolen bases (51).
