Generals Predicted to Finish Middle of the Pack

LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) preseason men's soccer coaches' poll was released Wednesday morning, with Washington and Lee ranked fifth.

The Generals received 45 total points for the fifth position. Two-time defending ODAC champion Roanoke received the top position in the poll while Virginia Wesleyan is ranked a close second. Hampden-Sydney rounds out the top three.

Washington and Lee, which lost seven players to graduation, finished 2002 with a 7-10-2 overall record and a 5-4 mark in conference action. The Generals advanced to the semifinal round of the ODAC tournament before falling to Randolph-Macon, 2-0.

Washington and Lee begins the 2003 season on Saturday, September 13 when the Generals travel to North Carolina Wesleyan. Match time is slated for 2:00 p.m.
