CINDA RANKIN GAINS 300TH CAREER VICTORY
LEXINGTON, Va. -- Washington and Lee Head Women's Tennis Coach Cinda Rankin claimed her 300th career victory with a 9-0 win over UC Santa Cruz on Mar. 24. Rankin's career record stands at 300-50 (.857) over 16 seasons with the Generals. She has never suffered a losing season, while leading W&L to 13 ODAC Championships and 10 straight NCAA Division III top-eight finishes. Last season, Rankin led W&L to a school-record 24 wins with just two losses as the Generals finished the season as the Division III National Runner-up. Her 1996 team also finished as the runner-up, while her 1995, 2000 and 2002 squads finished third at the National Championships. The 10-time ODAC Coach of the Year, Rankin also serves as W&L's Assistant Athletic Director and was the school's first full-time female athletic staff member following coeducation in 1985. Rankin's Generals are ranked second nationally this season. -- GENERALS -- |
