TAFFE NAMED TO A PAIR OF WOMEN'S LACROSSE ALL-AMERICA
TEAMS
LEXINGTON, Va. -- Washington and Lee senior attacker Kelly
Taffe (Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle) has been named to the Inside Lacrosse
and womenslacrosse.com All-America teams which were announced on Tuesday
afternoon. She garnered Second Team honors through Inside Lacrosse and
Third Team recognition by womenslacrosse.com. Taffe joins senior goalie Joanna Perini (Huntington, N.Y./Huntington),
who was named to the IWLCA/US Lacrosse All-America Third Team earlier
in the day. Their selections mark the fourth straight year that W&L
has claimed an All-America selection. Taffe earned First Team All-ODAC and First Team All-South
Atlantic Region honors in 2004 after leading the Generals in scoring with
70 points on 56 goals and 14 assists. A three-time All-ODAC selection,
she graduates as W&L's career leader in goals scored (182) and points
(238). Washington and Lee tied the school record for wins in a season after notching a 15-4 overall mark and finishing 7-1 in the ODAC. The Generals won the ODAC title and advanced to the NCAA Division III Tournament for the second-straight season before falling to Gettysburg, 13-8, in the second-round. -- GENERALS -- |
