Generals Predicted To Be Among Conference Elite

LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) released its men's soccer preseason poll on Monday and Washington and Lee was picked third among the conference's 10 teams.

W&L earned 72 points to place third in the poll. Defending champion Virginia Wesleyan garnered the top spot in the poll with 96 points and seven first place votes. Roanoke placed second with 90 points and two first place votes.

The Generals return their top two scorers, Brian Pirkle and Justin Mygatt, from last season where they went 7-6-4 overall and 3-4-2 in the ODAC. W&L entered the 2003 ODAC Tournament as the number seven seed and advanced to the championship game before losing to Virginia Wesleyan, 3-1.

W&L opens up the 2004 season against Salisbury University in the CASL College Showcase in Raleigh, NC on Saturday, September 11. The game is slated to begin at 2:30 pm.
