Generals Looking to Claim Third Consecutive ODAC Championship

LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) released its women's soccer preseason poll on Friday and Washington and Lee was picked second among the conference's 12 teams.

W&L, the two-time defending ODAC tournament champions, received 132 points and three first place votes. Virginia Wesleyan earned the top spot in the poll with 136 points and six first place votes. Lynchburg rounded out the top three with 128 points and received the other three first place votes.

The Generals had an overall record of 15-2-3 and a 9-1-1 mark in the ODAC last season and advanced to the final of the NCAA South Regional before falling to Virginia Wesleyan, 1-0, in double overtime.

W&L opens up the 2004 season against Centre College at the Glenn Hyundai College Showcase hosted by Transylvania University. The match begins at 4:00 pm.
