Goodwin, St. John and Robins Alll Honored

ASHLAND, Va. -- Three members of the Washington and Lee men's lacrosse team were named to the Virginia Sports Information Director's Association (VaSID) College Division All-State team which was announced on Wednesday morning.

Junior defenseman Peter Goodwin (Darien, Conn./Darien), freshman midfielder Harry St. John (Essex Falls, N.J./West Essex) and sophomore long-stick midfielder Spotty Robins (Richmond, Va./Woodberry Forest) were all named to the second team. Roanoke senior midfielder Chris Keating was named the VaSID Player of the Year, while Maroons' head coach Bill Pilat was selected the Coach of the Year.

Goodwin, a Second Team All-ODAC selection for the 2006 season, totaled two goals and one assist and picked up 28 ground balls. He was a key member of a Generals' defense that allowed an average of just 8.85 goals per game. For his career, he has played in 43 career games, totaling four points.

St. John, also a Second Team All-ODAC pick this spring, finished second on the team in scoring with 32 points on 24 goals and eight assists. He tallied at least one point in 12 games and had eight multi-goal games.

Robins was an Honorable Mention All-ODAC selection in 2006 after picking up 32 ground balls and helping the defense allow an average of just 8.85 goals per game.

Washington and Lee finished the 2006 season with a 7-6 overall record and a 3-3 mark in the ODAC. The Generals dropped five games to teams in the USILA Division III Top 10 and the sixth loss was to a Top 20 opponent.
