W&L NAMES IAN ROSMAN ASSISTANT ATHLETIC TRAINER
LEXINGTON, Va. -- Washington and Lee Athletic Director Mike Walsh has announced the appointment of Ian Rosman as assistant athletic trainer. He begins his appointment immediately.
"We are pleased to offer Ian this opportunity to work with our athletes and coaches," said Walsh. "He has developed a good reputation while at James Madison and we are looking forward to helping him begin his professional career."
"I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work at W&L," said Rosman. "The athletic training staff, coaches and student-athletes all have stellar reputations, and I am excited to be welcomed into the W&L family."
Rosman comes to W&L after assisting the training staff at James Madison University where he earned a master of science in kinesiology and sport studies. He worked with the Dukes' wrestling, track & field and tennis programs during the spring of 2005 and assisted the staff with wrestling, football, tennis and swimming as a graduate assistant trainer (2003-04).
"I am very excited to have Ian on board with us for the upcoming year," stated Head Athletic Trainer Heather Grant. "He has a great background and a strong enthusiasm for athletic training. I feel that he will be a great addition to our staff."
A 2002 graduate of West Chester University with a bachelor of science in athletic training, Rosman also served as a student assistant trainer at WCU from 2000-02 and was an intern athletic trainer at Bridgewater College during the spring of 2004.
Rosman is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA), the Virginia Athletic Trainers Association (VATA) and the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). He is certified by all three associations in addition to the American Red Cross for CPR and First Aid.
