Women's Team is No. 2, Men's Team is No. 11

LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Washington and Lee men's and women's tennis teams are both ranked among the nation's Top-15 in the ITA Division III rankings following the conclusion of the 2005 fall season. The women sit in the No. 2 position while the men stand in the No. 11 spot.

The women's team is also ranked second in the Atlantic South region while having four individuals among the Top-15 players in the region. Junior Emily Applegate (Charleston, S.C./Porter-Gaud) is the top-ranked player, sophomore Ginny Wortham (Richmond, Va./Collegiate) is No. 6, freshman Katie Tabb (Minneapolis, Minn./Edina) is No. 12 and junior Kristen McClung (Charleston, W.Va./Charleston Catholic) is No. 14. Applegate and McClung are the top-ranked doubles team, Wortham and sophomore Leah Weston (Colorado Springs, Colo./Air Academy) are No. 3 and Tabb and senior Lisa Mabry (Memphis, Tenn./St. Mary's Episcopal) are No. 4.

The men's team is also ranked second in the Atlantic South region and senior David Shay (Martinez, Ga./Augusta Prep) is the 10th ranked player in the region. Shay and sophomore Stuart Sanford (New Orleans, La./Jesuit) are ranked No. 4 in doubles.
