Generals Gunning For a Fourth Straight Appearance in the ODAC Championship Game

SALEM, Va. -- The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) released its women's soccer preseason coaches poll on Tuesday and Washington and Lee was picked third among the conference's 12 teams.

W&L received 101 points, while defending champion Lynchburg earned the top spot in the poll with 140 points and nine first place votes. Virginia Wesleyan placed second with 123 points and received the other three first place votes.

The Generals return four First Team All-ODAC performers, including junior forward Anne Wiltshire (Richmond, Va./Collegiate), who led the team in scoring with 35 points on 15 goals and five assists.

W&L had an overall record of 12-4-3 and a 8-2-1 mark in the ODAC last season and advanced to its third consecutive ODAC Championship game.

W&L opens the 2005 season against Johns Hopkins in Frostburg, Md. on Sat., Sept. 10 at 3:00 pm.
