Two W&L Women's Laxers Named to North-South All-Star Roster

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. -- Washington and Lee senior attacker Kelly Evans (Lexington, Va./Rockbridge County) and senior midfielder Maggie Megear (Cold Spring Harbor, N.Y./Cold Spring Harbor) have been named to the rosters for the 2007 STX Farewell Lacrosse Festival Division III North-South Senior All-Star game. The game will be played on Sat., June 16 in Downingtown, Pa.

Evans, a 2007 First-Team All-ODAC pick, played in 18 contest with 17 starts this season en route to notching 43 points on 15 goals and 28 assists. For her career, she has totaled 136 points on 81 goals and 55 assists. Her 28 assists in 2007 rank seventh all-time at W&L, while her 55 career assists rank sixth all-time in the program.

A 2006 and 2007 First-Team All-ODAC selection, Megear started 18 contest for the Generals as she accumulated 14 goals and four assists, included a pair of assists in a 14-4 win over the College of Wooster in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament. She led the team in ground balls, scooping up 47, and has racked up 57 career goals and 19 career assists.

W&L concluded the season with a 15-4 overall record and an 8-0 ODAC mark as it won its fifth-straight ODAC Championship. The 20th-ranked Generals also made their fifth-consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament and defeated Wooster, before falling to eventual National Runner-Up Salisbury, 10-7, in the second round.
