ASHLAND, Va. -- Washington and Lee placed three players on the Virginia Sports Information Director's (VaSID) College Division All-State Men's Soccer team which was released on Thursday afternoon.

Senior defender Scot Pittman (Waxhaw, N.C./Charlotte Country Day) and junior goalkeeper Ted Sheedy (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) were both named to the first team, while junior midfielder Josh Dodds (Marion, Iowa/Linn-Mar) was tabbed to the second team.

Pittman earned First Team All-ODAC, First Team All-South Region and Third Team All-America honors during the 2006 season. He started all 17 games and spearheaded a defense that allowed an average of just 0.52 goals per game and posted 10 shutouts. He also tallied a pair of assists and finished his career with three assists in 64 games played.

Sheedy also notched First Team All-ODAC laurels this fall after starting 15 games in goal. He recorded 37 saves for the season and posted an .841 save percentage. Sheedy's 0.49 goals-against average is a new W&L season record, while his eight shutouts are tied for the program record.

Dodds was also a first team all-conference selection in 2006 after starting all 17 games and finishing second on the team in scoring with 13 points on five goals and three assists. His four game-winning goals led the team and he will enter his senior season with 35 career points on 14 goals and seven assists.
