BALTIMORE, Md. -- Washington and Lee seniors Peter Goodwin (Darien, Conn./Darien) and Chris Lalli (Cranbury, N.J./Princeton) have both been named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Scholar All-America team, which was announced recently.
Goodwin and Lalli are among 40 players from Division I, II and III schools that were honored. The criteria states that a player maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and be named to a North-South Senior All-Star roster or be named to the USILA All-America team.
Goodwin earned First Team All-ODAC and Honorable Mention All-America honors in 2007. A Second Team All-ODAC choice as a junior, Goodwin was a four-year starter, who tallied one assist and 31 ground balls this season. He also spearheaded a W&L defense that ranked 18th in Division III in goals allowed (7.07 gpg).
Lalli was also a First Team All-ODAC and Honorable Mention All-America pick in 2007 after ranking fifth in Division III in save percentage (.655) and 21st in goals-against average (7.35). Lalli's 486 career saves rank fifth all-time at W&L, while his .615 career save percentage is tied for fifth all-time.
