SCOT PITTMAN NAMED TO MEN'S SOCCER ALL-AMERICA TEAM
MISSION, Kansas -- Washington and Lee senior defender Scot Pittman (Waxhaw, N.C./Charlotte Country Day) has been named to the NSCAA/adidas Division III All-America Men's Soccer Team as a third team selection.
Pittman was the only player from the Old Dominion Athletic Conference honored on the All-America teams and is W&L's first men's soccer All-American since Paul Wallace '02 received third team accolades following the 2001 season. He is just the fifth All-America selection for the Generals in 59 seasons of play.
A First Team All-ODAC selection, Pittman started all 17 games during the 2006 season and spearheaded a defense that allowed an average of just 0.52 goals per game and posted 10 shutouts. He also tallied a pair of assists.
For his career, Pittman played in 64 games with 55 starts and totaled three assists.
Washington and Lee finished the 2006 season with a 12-3-2 overall record and a 6-2-1 mark in the ODAC. The Generals began the season with a school-record 10-game unbeaten streak and advanced to the ODAC Tournament semifinals before falling to eventual-ODAC Champion Lynchburg College, 1-0.
