Hampden-Sydney comes into the game leading the ODAC with an 8-2 record and is 14-2 overall. The Generals are in fifth place with a 5-3 league record, but a W&L victory would mean that every team in the league has at least three conference losses. DYER COMES THROUGH IN THE CLUTCH AGAIN W&L senior Kelly Dyer has hit several clutch shots this year and was at his best against Emory & Henry last Wednesday. Dyer scored all 12 of his points in the second half as the Generals rallied from a 14-point halftime deficit to post a 65-62 win. Dyer scored 10 of his points in the final eight minutes, hitting three straight baseline jumpers to help W&L overcome a 12-point E&H lead in those final minutes and his jumper with 17 seconds remaining gave the Generals the final three point cushion. Dyer is averaging 11.1 points per game. W&L's sweep of Emory & Henry was the first time it had swept the Wasps since the 1993-94 season. PETERSON CONTINUES STRONG PLAY Sophomore center Rich Peterson scored a season-high 23 points in the victory over Emory & Henry and grabbed eight rebounds. Peterson, who scored 17 of his points in the second half, hit on 9-of-12 from the field and 5-of-5 from the free throw line. Peterson leads the team with an average of 12.5 points per game and is shooting 63 percent from the field. He's also averaging 5.2 rebounds per game to tie Scott Hudson for the team lead.
