Washington and Lee's women's lacrosse team has been selected to play in the NCAA Division III Tournament for the second time in their history. The Generals (13-2, 8-0 ODAC) will host St. Mary's (12-2, 2-2 Capital Athletic Conference) at Liberty Hall Fields on Wednesday afternoon at 4:00.
Tickets for the contest will go on sale at noon on Tuesday, May 5 in the W&L athletic department offices and at other locations around campus. Ticket prices will be $3.00 for adults and $1.00 for children 12 and under.
The Generals enter the 12-team field fresh off their Old Dominion Athletic Conference championship on April 26. W&L won the most regular season games in the history of the ODAC and then beat Bridgewater, 13-5 and arch-rival Roanoke, 9-5 to win their third ODAC Tournament title.
One of W&L's two non-conference losses came at St. Mary's College, by a score of 13-1 on April 13. The Seahawks went undefeated in non-conference play and lost two conference games by one and two goals respectively.
The winner would face The College of New Jersey in Trenton, N.J. on May 10 in the quarterfinal round.
W&L's previous tournament appearance came in 1993. They fell to Trenton State (now The College of New Jersey) by a score of 18-4.
