ROANOKE ADVANCES TO ODAC FINALS WITH A 3-0 WIN OVER EMORY & HENRY

LEXINGTON, Va. -- Seventh-seeded Roanoke College advanced to its second ODAC final in three years with a 30-20, 32-30, 30-27 win over third-seeded Emory & Henry in the semifinals of the ODAC Volleyball Tournament on Saturday afternoon at Washington and Lee.

The Maroons (17-11) were led by sophomore outside hitter Melissa Slusher (Altavista, Va./Altavista), who tallied 15 kills. Freshman setter Carly Zillig (Treasure Island, Fla./Shorecrest Prep) recorded nine digs, while sophomore setter Holly Holland (Roanoke, Va./William Byrd) notched 46 assists.

Emory & Henry (16-12) was paced by freshman outside hitter Adrienne Harvey’s (Ridgeway, Va./Magna Vista) 14 kills. Freshman middle hitter Holly Everhart (Purcellville, Va./Loudoun County) registered seven digs and senior setter Katy Dowe (Bristol, Va./Virginia High) amassed 25 assists.

Roanoke will face top-seeded Washington and Lee in the ODAC finals at 3:00 pm.
