EMORY & HENRY VOLLEYBALL DEFEATS RANDOLPH-MACON, 3-0, IN ODAC QUARTERFINALS

LEXINGTON, Va. -- Freshman middle hitter Adrian Helems (New Castle, Va./Craig County) notched a game-high 15 kills to lead third-seeded Emory & Henry past sixth-seeded Randolph-Macon, 30-22, 30-28, 30-28, in the Quarterfinals of the ODAC Volleyball Tournament on Friday evening.

Sophomore outside hitter Erin Connelly (Morganton, N.C./Freedom) tallied 15 digs, while senior setter Katy Dowe (Bristol, Va./Virginia High) registered 23 assists for the Wasps (16-11).

The Yellow Jackets (13-13) were paced by junior outside hitter Teresa Graham (Baldwin, Md./Dulaney) who tallied nine kills and 20 digs. Freshman middle hitter Jennifer Price (Virginia Beach, Va./Tallwood) also recorded nine kills for the Yellow Jackets. Sophomore setter Jennifer Hummill (Glen Allen, Va./J.R. Tucker) amassed a game-high 28 assists.

Emory & Henry advances to the semifinals were it will meet the winner of the quarterfinal match between second-seeded Lynchburg and fourth-seeded Roanoke. The semifinal match is set to begin at 10:30 am Saturday morning.
