W&L VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO EMORY, 3-0, IN NCAA TOURNAMENT SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- The third-seeded Washington and Lee volleyball
team saw its season end with a 30-26, 30-23, 30-23 loss to second-seeded
Emory University in the NCAA Division III South Regional Semifinals on
Friday evening at Trinity University. The Generals were led by senior middle blocker Lindsay Ruckert (Metairie,
La./Sacred Heart), who tallied 11 kills, six digs and three aces. Ruckert
ends her career with an ODAC-record 1,519 kills. Senior middle blocker Leslie Fischbeck (Pittsburgh, Pa./Woodland Hills)
totaled 12 kills in 19 attempts and ends the season with a school-record
.386 hitting percentage. Junior outside hitter Stacey Kimmel (San Antonio, Texas/Alamo Heights)
amassed eight kills, eight digs and three aces, while freshman outside
hitter Emily Wolfing (Mt. Airy, Md./South Carroll) notched six kills and
nine digs. Freshman setter Jennifer Lux (Virginia Beach, Va./Cox) added
31 assists. Emory (27-6) was paced by Amy Hymans 13 kills and seven digs. Kim
Rahn totaled 12 kills and 10 digs, while Caitlin Crafts recorded 38 assists. Washington and Lee ends its season with a school-record 30 wins against

to the NCAA Division III South Regional Semifinals with a 30-21, 30-15,
30-15 win over Christopher Newport on Thurdsay evening at Trinity University. In the process, the third-seeded Generals set a new school record for
wins in a season. W&L is now 30-4 overall. Senior middle blocker Leslie Fischbeck (Pittsburgh, Pa./Woodland Hills)
led W&L with 12 kills and two blocks. Junior outside hitter Stacey
Kimmel (San Antonio, Texas/Alamo Heights) totaled nine kills, nine digs
and seven aces, while senior middle blocker Lindsay Ruckert (Metairie,
La./Sacred Heart) added nine kills, six digs and six aces. Freshman setter
Jennifer Lux (Virginia Beach, Va./Cox) amassed 31 assists. Sixth-seeded Christopher Newport (24-11) was led by Lindsey Sheppard,
who recorded seven kills and six digs. Nina Richardson tallied 18 assists
for the Captains. Washington and Lee will face second-seeded Emory in the semifinals on

FIVE YEARS LEXINGTON, Va. -- Top-seeded Washington and Lee claimed its fourth ODAC
Volleyball Championship in the last five years as the Generals defeated
seventh-seeded Roanoke, 30-21, 30-20, 30-15, in the championship game
on Saturday afternoon. The Generals (29-4) were led by senior middle blocker Lindsay Ruckert
(Metairie, La./Sacred Heart), who totaled 13 kills in earning tournament
MVP honors. Freshman outside hitter Michelle Chastain (Phoenix, Ariz./Xavier
Prep) notched 12 digs, while freshman setter Jennifer Lux (Virginia Beach,
Va./Cox) tallied 36 assists. Senior middle blocker Leslie Fischbeck (Pittsburgh,
Pa./Woodland Hills) added 12 kills in making the all-tournament team. Roanoke (17-12) was led by freshman middle blocker Heather Cook (Dublin,
Va./Pulaski), who tallied 12 kills. Sophomore outside hitter Melissa Slusher
(Altavista, Va./Altavista) and sophomore setter Holly Holland (Roanoke,
Va./William Byrd) both notched five digs. Holland also contributed 28
assists. Both Cook and Holland made the all-tournament team for the Maroons. With the win, Washington and Lee earns the ODACs automatic bid
to the NCAA Tournament. The Generals will compete in the NCAA South Regional

Saturday afternoon. The Generals fell to Cumberland (Ky.), 30-21, 22-30,
27-30, 30-25, 16-18, then defeated Maryville, 30-21, 30-23, 30-15. In the loss to Cumberland, senior middle blocker Lindsay Ruckert (Metairie, La./Sacred Heart) led the way with 24 kills, 13 digs and five blocks. in the ODAC with a 30-22, 30-18, 29-31, 30-22 win over Lynchburg on Sunday
afternoon at the Warner Center. The win upped W&Ls record to 22-3 overall, 9-0 in the ODAC,
while Lynchburg fell to 19-7, 5-3 in the ODAC. Senior middle blocker Lindsay Ruckert (Metairie, La./Sacred Heart) amassed
19 kills, three aces and nine digs to lead the Generals. Freshman outside
hitter Michelle Chastain (Phoenix, Ariz./Xavier Prep) totaled 12 kills

INVITATIONAL BALTIMORE, Md. -- The Washington and Lee volleyball team improved to
20-3 overall by winning the Goucher Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
The Generals defeated Seton Hill, 28-30, 30-12, 30-27, 30-27, and Marymount,
30-14, 31-29, 30-13 before downing Lynchburg, 30-18, 30-10, 30-21, in
the finals. Against Seton Hill, senior middle blocker Lindsay Ruckert (Metairie,
La./Sacred Heart) led the way with 16 kills, seven digs and five aces.
Senior middle blocker Leslie Fischbeck (Pittsburgh, Pa./Woodland Hills)
totaled 14 kills and freshman outside hitter Emily Wolfing (Mt. Airy,
Md./South Carroll) recorded 12 kills. Freshman outside hitter Michelle

assists. In the win over Marymount, Ruckert and Chastain tied for the team lead
with nine kills. Fischbeck totaled eight kills and four blocks, while
Wolfing had seven kills and nine digs. Lux added 29 assists and eight
digs. In the championship match against Lynchburg, Chastain led the way with
10 kills and 13 digs. Ruckert totaled eight kills and six digs, while

30-20, 30-20, 30-20 in ODAC volleyball action on Tuesday evening. Ruckerts 15 kills give her 1,224 for her career, breaking the ODAC
