LEXINGTON, Va. -- Sophomore attacker Lindsay Caruso (Darien, Conn./Darien) scored four second-half goals to break a 4-4 halftime tie and lead third-seeded Lynchburg to a 10-7 victory over second-seeded Randolph-Macon in the ODAC Women's Lacrosse Tournament semifinals on Saturday afternoon in Lexington, Va.

The Hornets claimed the three-goal triumph despite a six-goal performance by Randolph-Macon junior midfielder Erin Riedy (Ellicott City, Md./McDonough).

R-MC (11-6) took an early 2-0 lead just 3:04 into the first half on a pair of goals by Riedy. LC sophomore attacker Linda Jack (Riva, Md./South River) tied the game at the 19:45 mark with back-to-back goals. The Yellow Jackets claimed the lead back on a goal by sophomore midfielder Megan Keyser (Charlottesville, Va./Western Albemarle) with 17:27 left in the first half, however Jack tied the game 28 seconds later. The teams would trade one goal each and were tied, 4-4, at the half.

Caruso scored two goals in the first 4:58 of the second half to give LC (11-7) a two-goal edge, but Riedy narrowed the gap to 6-5 with a goal at the 22:05 mark. Senior attacker Laurie Ward (Ellicott, Md./Mount de Sales) stretched the lead to two with a goal just over two minutes later and Caruso put the game away with a pair of goals just 56 seconds apart to give the Hornets a berth in the finals.

Jack added one assist to her three first-half goals, while sophomore defender Kate Habicht (Baltimore, Md./Parkville) chipped in with a goal and an assist. Junior goalie Jen McHugh (Bel Air, Md./C.M. Wright) held Randolph-Macon to three second-half goals and made nine saves.

The Yellow Jackets were led by Riedy's six scores and sophomore attacker Jill Casey (Timonium, Md./Roland Park), who added three assists.

Lynchburg will now meet top-seeded Washington and Lee in Sunday's final at 2:00 pm in Lexington, Va.
