W&L WOMEN'S SOCCER FALLS, 1-0, TO UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS-DALLAS RICHARDSON, Texas. -- The Washington and Lee women's soccer
team fell, 1-0, to the University of Texas at Dallas in an NCAA South
Region semifinal match on Saturday evening in Richardson, Texas. The Comets (16-3-2) broke a 0-0 deadlock at the 80:30
mark when Kristin Andrews headed in a cross from Stephanie Scarfone.
With the win, UT-D advances to tomorrow's regional final where they
will host Trinity University (Texas). For the match, UT-D held a 12-6 edge in shots. In the W&L goal, sophomore Emily Barker (Clifton,
Va./Mount Vernon) turned back six shots. Katie Johnson made three saves
for the Comets. With the loss, the 14th-ranked Generals wrap up their season with a program-record 17 wins against two losses and three ties. streak to 20-straight with a 2-0 win over Greensboro in the opening
round of the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Tournament at the Liberty

SALEM, Va. -- The 14th-ranked Washington and Lee women's
soccer team claimed its first-ever ODAC Championship on Saturday afternoon
in Salem, Va. After playing 90 minutes of regulation and two 10-minute
sudden-victory overtime periods with Lynchburg, the match was decided
on penalty kicks, where W&L held a 5-4 advantage. With the victory,
the Generals advance to the NCAA Division III National Championships for
the first time in school history. In the first half of play, W&L (15-1-4) held advantages
of 4-3 in shots, and 4-2 in corner kicks. The Hornets bounced back in
the second half, controlling the ball and outshooting the Generals, 9-2.
For the afternoon, Barker turned back six of the Hornets'
shots. Four members of the Generals squad were named to the All-Tournament
team. Junior sweeper Meghan Hayde (Massapequa, N.Y./St. Anthony), sophomores
Barker and midfielder Romney Willson (Roanoke, Va./Patrick Henry), and
freshman midfielder Gina Von Sternberg (Houston, Texas/Episcopal) received
honors for their play. 5-0, Tuesday at Lynchburg, Va. The Generals opened up a 3-0 halftime lead with goals coming
