Entering his second year as an assistant coach with the Washington and Lee women's tennis team is Curtis Speerschneider.

Before coming to Washington and Lee, Speerschneider spent three years as an assistant coach at his alma mater, North Carolina State University. He served as an assistant coach for the women's team from 1998-2000 and then spent the 2000-2001 season in the same post with the men's program. During his time at N.C. State, he helped develop several of the country's top-ranked male and female players, some of whom have continued their careers at the professional level.

Speerschneider has also taught at and co-directed Nike Tennis Camps (1997-2000) before heading up the Wolfpack Tennis Camps at N.C. State in 2001. Both elite camps, they drew top-ranked juniors from all over North and South America.

As an undergraduate, Speerschneider was a four-year member of the N.C. State men's tennis team, graduating in 2000 with a B.S. in business management.

Curtis is engaged and lives in Lexington, Va.
