Royal Track Classic
April 18, 1998 -- Harrisonburg, Va.
Junior Natasha Dorofeeva set a school record for the second week in a
row, breaking Josephine Schaeffer's 1993 mark of 4:54.7 in the 1,500
meter run. Dorofeeva ran a time of 4:52.0 to win the 1,500 at the Royal
Track Classic at Eastern Mennonite. W&L finished second at the meet.
The Generals dominated the distance events, scoring 54 points in the 800,
1,500 and 3,000 meter runs. Junior Lisa Brennan won the 800 in a time of
2:24.9 and finished second behind Dorofeeva in the 1,500. Freshman
Kathleen Moroney was second in the 800 and freshman Liz Olson was second
in the 3,000. W&L also finished second in the 4x400 relay.
Liberty Invitational
April 11, 1998 -- Lynchburg, Va.
Junior Natasha Dorofeeva broke her own school record and won the 800
meter run at the Liberty Invitational on Saturday. Dorofeeva won the race
in a time of 2:19.13. Junior Lisa Brennan took second in the 1,500 with a
time of 4:59.41. Other top performances were turned in by freshman
Kathleen Moroney who ran a career best time of 2:28.99 to place fourth in
the 800 and freshman Amy Calce who finished sixth in the 100 (13.53) and
ran a personal best time of 28.07 in the 200.
Battleground Relays
March 28, 1998 -- Fredricksburg, Va.
Washington and Lee set two school records and won both events at the
Battleground Relays. The 4x800 relay team of Kathleen Maroney, Lauren
McKeever, Natasha Dorofeeva and Lisa Brennan won in a record time of
9:46.0. The distance medley relay team of Wendy Case, Maroney, Dorofeeva
and Brennan won in a school record time of 12:59.9
Roanoke Invitational
March 21, 1998 -- Salem, Va.
Junior Natasha Dorofeeva won the 1,500 meter run in a time of 5:01 to
lead Washington and Lee's women's track team at the Roanoke Invitational.
W&L also placed second in the distance medley relay and got third place
finishes from Meredith Mylnar in the javelin and Lauren McKeever in the
800.
4th of 12 at W&L Invitational
March 14, 1998 -- Lexington, Va.
Washington and Lee opened the outdoor season by placing fourth at the 7th
Annual W&L Invitational. W&L won three events with junior Lisa Brennan
winning the 1,500, junior Natasha Dorofeeva winning the 800 and the 4x400
relay team winning. Brennan also placed second in the 800 and sophomore
Sarah Ellis took second in the 400.Complete Results

Junior Natasha Dorofeeva finished second in the 880 yard run to highlight
Washington and Lee's performance in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference
Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday at Lynchburg.
W&L finished in fourth place while Roanoke won the five-team event.
Junior Lisa Brennan was the top point scorer for the Generals, placing
third in the 880 and mile runs. Sophomore Sarah Ellis also placed in two
events, taking fifth in the 440 and long jump.
VMI Winter Relays - February 7, 1998 - Lexington, Va.
Washington and Lee's women's track team competed at the VMI Winter Relays
for the first time ever and had its distance medley relay team place
fifth. Lisa Brennan, Gabrielle Best, Natasha Dorofeeva and Wendy Case
comprised the team which finished fifth in a time of 13:29.0. Sophomore
Sarah Ellis won her heat of the 400 meter dash in a time of 1:06.88 and
freshman Amy Calce had a solid meet with a time of 7.89 in the 55 meter
dash and a time of 28.8 in the 200 meter dash.
Lebanon Valley Invitational - Jan. 24, 1998 -- Annville, Pa.
Junior Lisa Brennan won the 1,500 meter run in a time of 5:11.86 as the
Generals opened the indoor season at the Lebanon Valley Invitational.
W&L's 4x200 relay team of Amy Calce, Stephanie McKnight, Isaris Bonilla
and Gabrielle Best placed second in a time of 2:03.9. Bonilla also placed
sixth in the 200 (29.2) and freshman Wendy Case was sixth in the 1,500
(5:31.2).
